1(101) A Psalm of David. I will sing to you, O Lord, of mercy and judgment; I will sing a psalm,
1I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
2and I will be wise in a blameless way. When will you come to me? I walked in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house .
2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3I have not set before my eyes any unlawful thing; I have hated transgressors.
3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4A perverse heart has not cleaved to me; I have not known an evil man, forasmuch as he turns away from me.
4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5Him that privily speaks against his neighbor, him have I driven from [me]: he that is proud in look and insatiable in heart, —with him I have not eaten.
5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
6My eyes [shall be] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walked in a perfect way, the same ministered to me.
6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
7The proud doer lived not in the midst of my house; the unjust speaker prospered not in my sight.
7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
8Early did I kill all the sinners of the land, that I might destroy out of the city of the Lord all that work iniquity.
8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.
