1(115) Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, because of your mercy and your truth;
1Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your loving kindness, and for your truth’s sake.
2lest at any time the nations should say, Where is their God?
2Why should the nations say, “Where is their God, now?”
3But our God has done in heaven and on earth, whatever he has pleased.
3But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases.
4The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.
4Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5They have a mouth, but they can’t speak; they have eyes, but they can’t see:
5They have mouths, but they don’t speak. They have eyes, but they don’t see.
6they have ears, but they can’t hear; they have noses, but they can’t smell;
6They have ears, but they don’t hear. They have noses, but they don’t smell.
7they have hands, but they can’t handle; they have feet, but they can’t walk: they can’t speak through their throat.
7They have hands, but they don’t feel. They have feet, but they don’t walk, neither do they speak through their throat.
8Let those that make them become like to them, and all who trust in them.
8Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.
9The house of Israel trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
9Israel, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.
10The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
10House of Aaron, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.
11They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
11You who fear Yahweh, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.
12The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us: he has blessed the house of Israel, he has blessed the house of Aaron.
12Yahweh remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron.
13He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
13He will bless those who fear Yahweh, both small and great.
14The Lord add [blessings] to you and to your children.
14May Yahweh increase you more and more, you and your children.
15Blessed are you⌃ of the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth.
15Blessed are you by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
16The heaven of heavens [belongs] to the Lord: but he has given the earth to the sons of men.
16The heavens are Yahweh’s heavens, but he has given the earth to the children of men.
17The dead shall not praise you, O Lord, nor any that go down to Hades.
17The dead don’t praise Yah, nor any who go down into silence,
18But we, the living, will bless the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
18but we will bless Yah, from this time forward and forever more. Praise Yah!
