2O Lord, the king shall rejoice in thy strength; and in thy salvation he shall greatly exult.
2The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
3Thou hast granted him the desire of his soul, and hast not withheld from him the request of his lips. Pause.
3Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
4For thou hast prevented him with blessings of goodness: thou hast set upon his head a crown of precious stone.
4For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
5He asked life of thee, and thou gavest himlength of days for ever and ever.
5He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
6His glory is great in thy salvation: thou wilt crown him with glory and majesty .
6His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
7For thou wilt give him a blessing for ever and ever: thou wilt gladden him with joy with thy countenance.
7For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
8For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Highest he shall not be moved.
8For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
9Let thy hand be found by all thine enemies: let thy right hand find all that hate thee.
9Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
10Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven at the time of thy presence: the Lord shall trouble them in his anger, and fire shall devour them.
10Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
11Thou shalt destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from [among] the sons of men.
11Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
12For they intended evils against thee; they imagined a devicewhich they shall by no means be able to perform.
12For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
13For thou shalt make them [turn their] back in thy latter end, thou wilt prepare their face .
13Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
14Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy strength: we will sing and praise thy mighty acts.
14Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
