King James Version

Masoretic-derived · highlighted where altered

2Blessed [is the man] who thinks on the poor and needy: the Lord shall deliver him in an evil day.
2Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
3May the Lord preserve himand keep him alive, and bless him on the earth, and not deliver him into the hands of his enemy.
3The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
4May the Lord help him upon the bed of his pain; thou hast made all his bed in his sickness.
4The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
5I said, O Lord, have mercy upon me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
6Mine enemies have spoken evil against me, [saying], When shall he die, and his name perish?
6Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
7And if he came to see [me], his heart spoke vainly; he gathered iniquity to himself; he went forth and spoke in like manner.
7And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
8All my enemies whispered against me; against me they devised my hurt.
8All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
9They denounced a wicked word against me, [saying], Now that he lies, shall he not rise up again?
9An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
10For even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, lifted up [his] heel against me.
10Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
11But thou, O Lord, have compassion upon me, and raise me up, and I shall requite them.
11But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
12By this I know that thou hast delighted in me, because mine enemy shall not rejoice over me.
12By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
13But thou didst help me because of [mine] innocence, and hast established me before thee for ever.
13And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
14Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. So be it, so be it.
14Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
