King James Version

Masoretic-derived · highlighted where altered

2Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to thee; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.
2Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
3Thou hast sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;
3Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
4who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;
4Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
5to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear .
5That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
6They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares ; they have said, Who shall see them?
6They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
7They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heartis deep,
7They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
8and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,
8But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
