1(66) For the end, a Song of Psalm of resurrection. Shout to God, all the earth.
1For the Chief Musician. A song. A Psalm. Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
2O sing praises to his name; give glory to his praise.
2Sing to the glory of his name! Offer glory and praise!
3Say to God, How awful are your works! through the greatness of your poweryour enemies shall lie to you.
3Tell God, “How awesome are your deeds! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.
4Let all the earth worship you, and sing to you; let them sing to your name. Pause.
4All the earth will worship you, and will sing to you; they will sing to your name.” Selah.
5Comeand behold the works of God; [he is] terrible in [his] counsels beyond the children of men.
5Come, and see God’s deeds— awesome work on behalf of the children of men.
6Who turns the sea into dry land; they shall go through the river on foot; there shall we rejoice in him,
6He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the river on foot. There, we rejoiced in him.
7who by his power is Lord over the age, his eyes look upon the nations; let not them that provoke [him] be exalted in themselves. Pause.
7He rules by his might forever. His eyes watch the nations. Don’t let the rebellious rise up against him. Selah.
8Bless our God, you⌃ Gentiles, and make the voice of his praise to be heard;
8Praise our God, you peoples! Make the sound of his praise heard,
9who quickens my soul in life , and does not suffer my feet to be moved.
9who preserves our life among the living, and doesn’t allow our feet to be moved.
10For you, O God, has proved us; you have tried us with fire as silver is tried.
10For you, God, have tested us. You have refined us, as silver is refined.
11You brought us into the snare; you laid afflictions on our back.
11You brought us into prison. You laid a burden on our backs.
12You did mount men upon our heads; we went through the fire and water; but you brought us out into [a place of] refreshment.
12You allowed men to ride over our heads. We went through fire and through water, but you brought us to the place of abundance.
13I will go into your house with whole burnt offerings; I will pay you my vows ,
13I will come into your temple with burnt offerings. I will pay my vows to you,
14which my lips framed, and my mouth uttered in my affliction.
14which my lips promised, and my mouth spoke, when I was in distress.
15I will offer to you whole burnt sacrifices full of marrow, with incense and rams; I will sacrifice to you oxen with goats. Pause.
15I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat animals, with the offering of rams, I will offer bulls with goats. Selah.
16Come, hear, and I will tell, all you⌃ that fear God, how great things he has done for my soul.
16Come and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.
17I cried to him with my mouth, and exalted him with my tongue.
17I cried to him with my mouth. He was extolled with my tongue.
18If I have regarded iniquity in my heart, let not the Lord listen [to me].
18If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.
19Therefore God has listened to me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
19But most certainly, God has listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer.
20Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
20Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his loving kindness from me.
