8How can I cursewhom the Lord curses not ? or how can I devote whom God devotes not ?
8How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?
9For from the top of the mountains I shall see him, and from the hills I shall observe him: behold, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
9For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
10Who has exactly calculated the seed of Jacob, and who shall number the families of Israel? let my soul die with the souls of the righteous, and let my seed be as their seed.
10Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!

19God is not as man to waver, nor as the son of man to be threatened; shall he say and not perform? shall he speak and not keep [to his word]?
19God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
20Behold, I have received [commandment] to bless: I will bless, and not turn back.
20Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
21There shall not be trouble in Jacob, neither shall sorrow be seen in Israel: the Lord his God [is] with him, the glories of rulers [are] in him.
21He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

4he says who hears the oracle of the Mighty One, who saw a vision of God in sleep; his eyes were opened:
4He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
5How goodly [are] thy habitations, Jacob, and thy tents, Israel!
5How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
6as shady groves, and as gardens by a river, and as tents which God pitched, and as cedars by the waters.
6As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the Lord hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.

13If Balac should give me his house full of silver and gold, I shall not be able to transgress the word of the Lordto make it good or bad by myself; whatsoever things God shall say, them will I speak.
13If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the Lord, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the Lord saith, that will I speak?
14And now, behold, I return to my place; come , I will advise thee of what this people shall do to thy people in the last days.

17I will point to him, but not now; I bless him, but he draws not near: a star shall rise out of Jacob, a man shall spring out of Israel; and shall crush the princes of Moab, and shall spoil all the sons of Seth.
