1And it came to pass when men began to be numerous upon the earth, and daughters were born to them,
1When men began to multiply on the surface of the ground, and daughters were born to them,
2that the sons of God having seen the daughters of men that they were beautiful, took to themselves wives of all whom they chose.
2God’s sons saw that men’s daughters were beautiful, and they took any that they wanted for themselves as wives.
3And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men for ever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
3Yahweh said, My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.

5And the Lord God having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that every one in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,
5Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil.
6then God laid it to heart that he had made man upon the earth, and he pondered [it] deeply.
6Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

8But Noe found grace before the Lord God.
8But Noah found favor in Yahweh’s eyes.

9This is the history of the generations of Noah: Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.

10Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11But the earth was corrupted before God, and the earth was filled with iniquity.
11The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12And the Lord God saw the earth, and it was corrupted; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.
12God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
13And the Lord God said to Noe, A period of all men is come before me; because the earth has been filled with iniquity by them, and, behold, I destroy them and the earth.
13God said to Noah, “I will bring an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them and the earth.
14Make therefore for thyself an ark of square timber; thou shalt make the ark in compartments, and thou shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
14Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch.
15And thus shalt thou make the ark; three hundred cubits the length of the ark, and fifty cubits the breadth, and thirty cubits the height of it.
15This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16Thou shalt narrow the ark in making it, and in a cubit above thou shalt finish it, and the door of the ark thou shalt make on the side; with lower, second, and third stories thou shalt make it.
16You shall make a roof in the ship, and you shall finish it to a cubit upward. You shall set the door of the ship in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.
17And behold Ibring a flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven, and whatsoever things are upon the earth shall die.
17I, even I, will bring the flood of waters on this earth, to destroy all flesh having the breath of life from under the sky. Everything that is in the earth will die.
18And I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt enter into the ark, and thy sons and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
18But I will establish my covenant with you. You shall come into the ship, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons wives with you.
19And of all cattle and of all reptiles and of all wild beasts, even of all flesh, thou shalt bring by pairs of all, into the ark, that thou mayest feed them with thyself: male and female they shall be.
19Of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ship, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
20Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to thee, male and female to be fed with thee.
20Of the birds after their kind, of the livestock after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort will come to you, to keep them alive.
21And thou shalt take to thyself of all kinds of food which ye eat, and thou shalt gather them to thyself, and it shall be for thee and them to eat.
21Take with you some of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it will be for food for you, and for them.
22And Noe didall things whatever the Lord God commanded him, so did he.
22Thus Noah did. He did all that God commanded him.
